I'm reading an excellent book that I am going to review, and I'm wondering why we generally use so many footnotes and so much bibliography in academic books. They drown our voices, interrupt the reading, and cannot be assimilated.

Only in my experience it was turned in-ward and the veterans took it out against us either in exclusion or being infantilizing (and some of us were older than them) #Blacksky #academichatter

So since our Uni has switched to ecology profile, I’m going to insist on including the Arctic region into my research – I mean, c’mon, we literally teach engineers, who construct ice-breakers and other vessels 😑
