Lagoon & Trifid Nebulae
First light on my (new to me) ZenithStar 73, and indeed my first glass with any astrophotography chops! Have been working with vintage SMC Takumars to date. Great way of getting into the hobby without remortgaging, but wow what a leap forward an actual refractor provides. Stack of 30*90 second subs at ISO 1600, calibrated with dark, flat and bias frames. Stacked in DSS, cropped & processed using Graxpert, Photoshop & StarNet Gear: William Optics ZenithStar 73 + 73R Flattener/0.8*Reducer Unmodded Canon 6D with a Svbony CLS filter. Our nearest galactic neighbour, the Andromeda galaxy, isn't really very pretty. Way back when, Apple pulled a satellite galaxy, M110 bottom right, out of its wallpaper for OSX to make everything more aesthetically pleasing. #science #astrophotography #astronomy

This image shows NGC 6992, the Eastern Veil Nebula, a bright arc of the larger Veil Nebula complex in Cygnus. It is the remnant of a massive star that exploded as a supernova between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago. #astrophotography

NGC6960 is a bright filament of the Veil Nebula supernova remnant in Cygnus. This frame captures the complex, filamentary arcs of ionised gas — oxygen atoms glowing blue-green and hydrogen shining red — shaped by the expanding shock front. #astrophotography @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

Part of the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex. I am working on a 16-panel mosaic of the region, and this is the first eight panels. TH complex is located between 400-600 ly from us and is a combination of reflection nebulae, dark clouds, and emission nebulae. #astrophotography @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

Neh, the only remaining item is the Zenithstar and I just purchased a Starizona Apex ED for it. I intend to use it with the QHY Mini Cam 8m but I just haven't had any clear skies to do so. 😭
