Savannah has very severe myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), a chronic neuro-immune disease. Sadly, although ME is both very common and very serious, patients face stigma and are often dismissed and disbelieved, sometimes with tragic consequences. Please act immediately to ensure Savannah receives intravenous fluids. Without these she may die. Please engage with experts in ME to find the best care plan for Savannah. I understand that NHS hospitals generally do not work with private doctors. However as there are currently no ME specialists working within the NHS, you should make an exception in this case. Most importantly, please acknowledge that Savannah's lived experience makes her an expert in her own condition. Your staff must respect her agency to refuse treatments which she knows will cause her to deteriorate further. They must listen to her and respect her wishes when she communicates the care she needs. Unfortunately, in the past the lack of medical knowledge and training on ME has led to dangerous relapse and even death. The death of Maeve Boothby O'Neil a few years ago led to a great deal of media attention and an inquiry which recognized that hospitals do not provide adequate care to these patients. Dear Mr Travis, I’m writing to you with concern for a patient who is rapidly deteriorating in your care at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Severe myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) patient Savannah Victora-May has been an inpatient with you since March 2025. After eleven months her condition has only continued to worsen, she now needs to transfer to an a safer environment. Unfortunately, there have been multiple cases like Savannah’s where hospitals without knowledge of how to treat severe ME patients, have caused significant and sometimes life-threatening declines. This was the case with 27-year-old severe ME patient Maeve Boothby O’Neill – who tragically died in 2021 as a direct result of inadequate care by Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Firstly, we ask that you urgently restore her intravenous fluids. If you do not take immediate action on this, Savannah will be at real risk of death. Savannah wishes to move to a hospice where palliative-trained staff will be equipped to stabilise her. Given this, I am writing to urge Queen Elizabeth Hospital to take steps to arrange her safe and urgent transfer into a hospice before her condition declines any further. We also urge the hospital to engage with advice from ME experts and read the up-to-date internationally-recognised guidance medical guidance on safe care for people with Severe ME that has been shared with her doctor, and train staff accordingly. Members of Savannah’s multi-disciplinary team have a duty to engage with this information. Most importantly, please acknowledge that as the patient, Savannah is the expert in her own condition. And therefore, I ask that your staff respect her agency to refuse treatments where she knows they will cause her to deteriorate further and actively listen to her when she communicates the care she needs. Gufrau a Victor Kal vydávají po roční spolupráci album Boyband
Album Boyband je výsledkem roční spolupráce Victora Kala a Gufrau. Z původně plánovaného EP vyrostl ambiciózní dlouhohrající celek. ## Celek má tři části Kořeny desky sahají už do jara 2025. Do všech probdělých nocí i mechanicky produktivně laděných dopolední. Zárodky každé písně vznikaly v úplně jiném podnebí, prostředí i čase. Formát alba je docela ambiciózním pokusem na nedokončené linie navázat a vzájemně je zkusit propojit. Právě z tohoto důvodu bylo původním plánem jen společné EP. Zbytek nedokončených konceptů měl zůstat v šuplíku, nebo najít uplatnění na sólových projektech Victora a Gufrau. Všichni jmenovaní ale nějakým způsobem inklinují k megalomanii, která kratší formáty výrazně podrývá. Proto se v průběhu října ustálil jejich společný ideál alba na dvojciferném počtu skladeb. Samotné album má tři části. První třetina stojí na instrumentalitě. Soulových i jazzových prvcích a realistických textech. Druhá třetina je v rychlejším tempu a žije taky na víc tepajících textech. Skladby jsou cíleně nesourodé. Potkávají se ale ve finálním efektu opojení, ať už molově či durově laděném. Poslední část je hybrid, který nespadá do kategorie chill nebo párty. Taky tady najdeme pojící prvky, převážně snahu o nabourání nastaveného dogmatu, ať už textově, instrumentálně, nebo kompozičně.
