Now, in turns of promotions on my end, Land of Gold work has been postponed for the #HorrorWritersChat anthology that is in the works in Matt Mason's name!

I've been working on it since the beginning of December. In terms of what you can expect from me...
The melted faces coruscated into a form. Vague notions of arms and legs, of a body. A miasma of motion that never ceased to twist and twirl. And in those twists and twirls, she saw her life, in its totality. Every moment. Every thought. Every action and decision. Everything that brought her here. The shape’s head bubbled upward. Thick, sinewy arteries twisted into a cord for a neck, of discoloured red and pink. Chin and cheekbones sharpened the apex that never ceased to bleed. Ventricles hollowed into cheekbones and eye sockets; arteries lined the beating face in deep creases. The heart shuddered once. Twice. Then it burst with blood that hissed away in sharp, violent arcs. And from the splayed wound, a face ruptured through, with a pair of eyes hidden behind a film of firm, pulsing muscle. Its gaze was dimmed by webbed flesh, yet its scrutiny was clearer than water. The arteries climbed further up from its neck, undulating into a thicket of a thousand blossoms that glowed at the heartbeat’s rhythm. Blood wafted away in a hazy mist – tiny clouds of faces, taut in death, stern in acceptance, merging into each other. She beheld the Lock & Key in total silence.

I've just learned that one of my Grandma's nephews died recently, leaving no children and, it appears, no will. Since Grandma had 6 brothers, many of whom had large families, this presents something of a challenge for the firm engaged to track us all down. More of a family thicket than a tree

Stats for a run: 11.68 km at a 6:13 min/km pace. A blue ocean under a mostly overcast sky. A few bare trees and some brown grass in the foreground. There are waves on the ocean and a few rocks scattered in the water nearby. If you zoom in an awful lot and know where to look, there a small black speck - a white-tailed sea eagle. A mess of briars, all grey branches and a few brown leaves. A single rose hip sticks out from one of the branches. There's maybe a path through them, across leaf detritus and moss, but it's hard to tell for sure. A dramatic view of a limestone cliff from below, with some pine trees visible at the top. The sky behind is white, with a hint of blue sky above. Some large rocks, fallen from the cliff, are scattered in the foreground.

They love peanuts, fruit, acorns, nuts in general, soy beans (I used to hunt them before I gave my guns up) does will hang close to steady food sources when they have babies, my dad has one that has twins every year that has claimed his peach tree, she has them in a thicket right across from it
