I dunno what it is about Toyota Tacomas that make their owners go

Hear hear! My wife drives a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. It runs fine, because Toyota trucks run forever, but she'd be perfectly happy to buy something newer, and she'd be SUPER happy to buy an all-electric, if they made one that size. But they just don't. Modern Tacomas are bloated monstrosities ...

Those off-road Toyota Tacomas look so badass to me. Might need that fr

I know its a whole different sitch, but I have driven trucks my whole life, not sky jacked ones or anything just stock trucks. Tacomas and F150s mostly. I recently bought a 2nd gen Honda CRV. I have been a fool. The gas mileage alone. I bought it for 2k and I wish I had done this decades ago.

it was the same with the powerline and the gondola workers. they switched to side by sides while Tacomas and Rav4s passed them

depends on credit, price, and down. i threw 6 down on a 2019 tacoma (priced 22, 28k miles) and pay about 360 monthly, loan's through a bank. but tacomas price higher than average because they're damn near invincible so something closer to 50k miles in '20 might get the results you want

We’re at like 12 Tacomas per minute. The traffic isn’t that bad but apparently every Tacoma on the island is out and about.

Yeah but brand new Tacomas are often $60k USD and far less durable.

It's not that bad; 1996-2004 Tacomas here in California are typically $8000-12000 depending on condition and equipment (typically 150-250k miles), with exceptional or very low mileage trucks (<100k) going for $15-25k.

Makes you really appreciate the old timers driving around the 90s and older Tacomas. Take good care, keep it simple, stock, and forever living.

I drive 2003 chevy silverado work truck with a crew cab and a full size bed. No Tacomas.

I had a '89 Toyota pickup, just like the picture. Great truck! Perfect size! I would buy another in a heartbeat. Tacomas are too big.

Literally the dream. Caught last week looking at pictures of 90s rangers and tacomas like “damn”
pickup trucks for the average person should not have been allowed to advance past this. if you need anything bigger, you should have to provide some kind of documentation showing you have the license and need for special heavy machinery, otherwise you get the 1990 toyota hilux

Grew up and learned to drive in a 97 Tacoma extended cab

At least the modern Tacomas aren't horrendously large but they're still getting bigger and it's extensively frustrating

It's very easy to buy a 1st gen Tacoma, which is very closely related to a Hilux, and only slightly more difficult to find a pre-96 actually-a-Hilux Toyoya Pickup. I drive a 2002 Tacoma and see 1st gen Tacomas every time I leave my house.

Then why are well-mantained, high mileage, late 90s/early 00s Toyota Tacomas and 4Runners selling for nearly what they were new?
