Stage winner Romeo in disbelief after victory and yellow jersey, fellow escapee Lipowitz had different plans but still gains time
Gamble, gamble, and gamble again. That word came up a lot after stage 3 of the Critérium du Dauphiné, especially among the breakaway riders fighting for the win. Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) could sense that everyone was watching him, so he too had to take a gamble to increase his chanc...

Mathieu van der Poel admits he's struggling quite a bit in the Tour de France: "How I'm doing? Not great"
Mathieu van der Poel has a great shot at a stage win in Sunday’s Tour de France stage, but if you ask the Dutchman himself, the odds of converting that chance aren’t looking great. Speaking to Sporza before the stage, Van der Poel admitted he’s not feeling well anymore. We’re deep into the second we...

No issue, Jonas has Sepp, Yates and Affini at the back! All top 5 is also with him, only no Pogi who should have dropped back and let the break fight it out with themselves! Wout, Victor and Matteo go for a stagewin explainable. Only Pogacar keeps following Matteo unnecessary, he's obsessed 🙉

Juan Ayuso not immediately thinking about going all-in after Giro d’Italia stage win
“The first blow is half the battle,” as they say in the Netherlands. That must be how it felt for Juan Ayuso after the first mountain stage of the Giro d’Italia. Representing UAE Emirates-XRG, Ayuso took the stage win and closed the gap significantly to pink jersey holder and main rival Primoz Rogli...

Milan gets revenge after missed first chance, but it nearly went wrong: "We started too early"
Jonathan Milan came to the Tour de France with two wishes: stage wins and the green jersey. The Italian rider from Lidl-Trek was close in the third stage, but in the eighth stage to Laval, he was the best on a tricky finish, wearing the green jersey. So, part one of his goals is now complete, but, o...

He will be a bit overlooked with the Simon stagewin and Jonas being able to answer Pog, but I think Matteo looked very good today.
Between the attacks and some work at the front, he had to use more energy than the other GC guys, but he was never in trouble on the final climb and even able to sprint.

Vacek (“He’s the greatest leader to me”) and Pedersen (“I’ll do everything I can for him to win a stage”) see their plan succeed

After Mads Pedersen secured the opening stage win, the Dane also triumphed in stage 3 and reclaimed the pink leader’s jersey. Afterward, there was plenty of praise for the team and his teammates.
