An eight panel comic. 1) It is a new morning. Konsi stands in a determined pose, she is wearing quite a fancy dress in a mix of green tones. KONSI: It's crunch time. We need to look into Lady Addis, find out her weaknesses, and beat the high priestess of Luck in a poker game. First- 2) She is interrupted by Razira. RAZIRA: I'll ask around at the temple for gossip. Maybe the clergy have ideas. I got this. 3-6) Individual shots of the rest of the party, contributing their ideas. SAND: I'll tag along and watch her sermons. Let's see if she has any common tells or behavioral ticks. MYSTERY: I will tap my guild contacts, and obtain a list of every match that Addis has taken part in for the last few years. TORON: ...And I'll track down her opponents in the taverns around town. One of them has to have some insight. FAELYS: I'll study the match records and her plays. There must be flaws in her strategies... If not, then there's patterns that we'll take advantage of. 7) Razira puts her hand on Konsi's shoulder and bends down to speak to her. RAZIRA: So... what'll you do, Cabbage? KONSI: Um... I'll do what I do best, of course. 8) Konsi steps away, looking back over her shoulder with a coy expression. KONSI: Panic.

1003 - Why Not Both?

“Alcohol is a mild poison” has been a house rule within my extended roleplaying circles for a long time. It fits well into almost any setting or metaphysics, and allows you to do interesting things with intoxication.
This comic follows on from the previous story. Konsi (a goblin cleric) and Razira (a half orc paladin) are standing in front of the door to Konsi's house. Konsi is a little flushed, due to all the alcohol she consumed in previous comics. 1. Konsi: Thanks for walking me home. Razira: Do you want me to put you to bed? You're still very drunk. 2. Konsi: Nah. I can sober up whenever I wanna. Razira: Really now? Konsi: Yep! Watch! 3. Konsi begins to glow, holding her hands to her chest, that explode with a bright light. She is casting the spell "lesser restoration" 4. Konsi now appears to be completely fine. Konsi: Y'see? Alcohol is just a poison. Razira: Should I be impressed that this works... or worried that you can cast perfectly while sloshed?

Konsi: Helpin' people, (hic) or gin? Razira: I'd say both. Let's go home. 2) Razira moves her face a bit closer as Konsi gesticulates wildly. Konsi: I still gots schpells, I'd should usem. Razira: You did great today Cabbage, time for rest. 3) Konsi pushes Razira away. You wanna me to schtop… /Make me./ 4) (Razira's eyes narrow) 5) Razira has collected Konsi in a fireman's lift. Razira: See you tomorrow. (Konsi protests wildly as she is carried from the scene.)

Konsi: Well I cast detect disease, and it turns out that there were lots of people who were sick, so I had to deal with all of that, and then this gnome lady had some questions about Tymora, and then there was this guy who'd drunk WAY too much and needed sobering up and then I broke up a fight and then this dwarf guy told me he thought all goblins are savages, so he was confused why I was helping people, and he ended up wanting smithing advice too, and then this elf had lost her housekeys and was looking for them and I'm good at finding stuff so I helped her search, and then I saw there was a beggar in the street so I had to pay for him to get a meal and a place to stay for (text continues out of the panel) Razira: Konsi, Dear. 3. Razira: You don't have to solve every problem you come across. 4. Konsi stares blankly while trying to process this idea.)

Konsi: You see that old man, gambling in the corner, wearing a green cap? Razira: You know him? Konsi: No, but I've been watching him awhile. Panel 2: The image jumps, showing a few people playing cards, including an ill looking man with sunken eyes, wearing a green cap. The conversation continues over the top of this. Konsi: I'm convinced he has Rotshakes Razira: Rotshakes? Konsi: A terrible plague. Fatal if not treated. Panel 3: Konsi has quickly left her spot at the drinking table and has left the panel. Razira reaches out to stop her, but is too slow. Konsi (from off panel) I'm gonna go talk to him.

Toron: How many times Konsi? We don't talk to the press! Konsi: But we have to- Panel 2: The argument is immediately cut short by Razira who steps in, separating the two. Razira: No. Konsi: But- Razira: NO! Konsi BUT! Razira (with emphasis): Stop. Panel 3: Razira is squishing Konsi's face to stop her talking. Razira: We've got ten whole days for this. Today, you've stressed enough. Razira: The ONLY work you're doing tonight is fending off evil spirits. Panel 4: Razira: I mean gin. The spirits are gin.
