Tenk deg ei nettavis der folk faktisk måtte kunne noko om temaet før dei skreiv kronikk 🙄🙄🙄

On why devolving powers to states is a bad idea...

"State governments have approved clearly unacceptable projects (eg 3000-apartment complex on a Ramsar-listed wetland at Toondah Harbour) that the federal govt rejected." Kelly O'Shanassy, ACF CEO #auspol #EPBC

Good news for #wetlands! 💦 Four sites in #Melbourne and the Bellarine are nominated for #Ramsar listing – a global nod to their beauty, wildlife and cultural value. That means more protection for precious ecosystems and endangered birds like the curlew sandpiper (pictured). Photo by Vedant Kasambe.

It’s literally surrounded by nature reserves (Pyramid Rock, YCW Beach) the wetlands on the adjoining farm and the coastal protection zones. Let alone the Ramsar listed wetland with a few km and all within a UNESCO Western Port Biosphere.
Love the bikes but it’s a balance

Three days exploring the Macquarie Marshes. What an amazing place. Flocks of birds, ducks, egrets, even a pair of Brolgas! Fish, frogs and a big old Gugar (Goanna) not far from the campsite. The marshes have Ramsar listing but it hasn't stopped a mine lodging an exploration claim. 😡
