Invasive cycad scale is now established in Jamaica.
Once infestations become heavy, systemic pesticides are required. Horticultural oils alone are often not effective at this stage.
Early detection, pruning of heavily infested fronds, repeated treatments, & good sanitation are key to saving cycads.
