@nmw1.bsky.social Hegseth's heritage is Norwegian. It is tempting to think of him as being in a permanent 'berserker' state but this would be unrelated to his heritage since my impression is that this was alway a temporary state among viking warrors.

Trump wants to "permanently pause" immigration from third world countries. This is an oxymoron. You cannot permanently pause anything. You can indefinitely pause or unqualifiedly cease but permanently pause is nonsensical.
