I made these out of cotton thread and my sister put them together - aren’t they pretty?

So I can’t find the dozens of microcrochet bookmarks I spent almost a month making

We were moving things around so much the last few weeks, we didn’t even have bedrooms so nothing had a set space - I’m just so sad about it and angry at myself, I did all that work to prep for this market

I found a free pattern for a wrist pouch styled as an acorn. I know I definitely want my chatelaine to be whimsical, so I thought my thimble pouch should be an acorn. Maybe if I make this pattern as microcrochet with embroidery thread it'll come out at the right size?

Working on a new microcrochet piece, so I thought I'd let you in on how I do it. This is the same method I use for all of my microcrochet work.

I use a 1.00mm hook (shown here next to the hook I usually use for my plushies) and embroidery floss.

A series of 6 spools of embroidery floss with a 1.00mm hook balanced on top.

A pair of crochet hooks side by side, one is significantly smaller than the other.

The end of a piece of embroidery floss before I split it into two parts. It's too thick to use all on it's own, so I split it in half and use three strands at a time.

The beginning of a 3D crocheted item made with a 1.00mm hook and three strands of embroidery floss.

Anyway, one of the crochet books I've looked at recently says you can actually crochet *covers* for buttons, just to ensure they match your projects.

And if that's the case, then I can add "microcrochet" to the list of techniques in this cardigan.

I finished this blanket, yay! It's been washed, rinsed and blocked and I love it! Wish I could keep it but having a dog with severe allergies is crazy expensive. 🤦🏻‍♀️
