I actually find it weirdly fun/engaging to write out Corporatocracy macro/micro stuff for Maxwell - like yeah if shrinking technology did actually come out you totally would see horror stories just like this, at least here it's being carried out by hot looming anthros who provide nice eye candy lmao

After @jetzeroinfinity.bsky.social's take, I'll turn up the heat more: SANDA is a good version of FranXX. The right way to do a story about a society catastrophically failing its next generation via gross micro-managing of its children is by leaning into diverse coming of age stories as SANDA does.

After @jetzeroinfinity.bsky.social's take, I'll turn up the heat more: SANDA is a good version of FranXX. The right way to do a story about a society catastrophically failing its next generation via gross micro-managing of its children is by leaning into diverse coming of age stories as SANDA does.
after a while, a lot of incidental diversity starts to feel like an aesthetic game of substitution in the name of escapism. We took the unchecked, heteronormative, colonially white template of fantasy and just substituted marginalized characters in there. But it's a diversity win I guess.

something I’ve been doing to distance myself from Taylor specifically and view this as a much larger cultural effort is to see the micro way they are spreading their ~fairy dust~ into their projects, who they hire, the stories they are telling etc. all of it is meant to shape culture and perspective
