The Flood Warning has now been removed. However, a Flood Alert remains in force for the wider area, so flooding of roads and low lying land is still possible.  Further rainfall is forecast but no further flooding is expected.   We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary.   Continue to take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car.  

Storm Chandra brought torrential wind and rain to Cornwall.

Weather warnings for heavy rain and strong winds are in place during the third major storm to hit to the UK this month.

High river levels are causing flooding today. Heavy rainfall  has caused river levels to rise. River levels have now peaked on the River Fowey, but remain high. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Coulson Park, the Sewage Treatment Works, Lostwithiel Railway Station, Quay Street, and properties along The Parade. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. We are closely monitoring the situation. High river levels are causing flooding today.  Flooding is expected on 26 January 2026 into 27 January 2026  Heavy rainfall has caused river levels to rise, with further bands of heavy rain forecast overnight and into Tuesday morning. Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 22:00 on Monday 26 January 2026. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Coulson Park, the Sewage Treatment Works, Lostwithiel Railway Station, Quay Street, and properties along The Parade. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 5am and 7am.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Activate any flood protection products you may have .  This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 27 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding today.  Flooding is expected from the early hours of 09 December 2025 .  Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from Tuesday morning. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Coulson Park, the Sewage Treatment Works, Lostwithiel Railway Station, Quay Street, and properties along The Parade. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be high all day with flooding expected to commence from 08:00am. High tide at Fowey on Tuesday morning is at 08:24am.
