You have fewer options in every slot, the characters aren't nearly as chatty, the Special Infected are less varied... L4D2 is just _better_, just _more_ than L4D. There's not really any reason to play the original at this point.

I played through the Left 4 Dead campaigns in the original game (i.e. without the extra weapons and Special Infected from L4D2) and wow that's a different experience. After playing through the first campaign in L4D2 I'm honestly struck by how much smaller L4D is on like every level.

I don’t know the specifics of the L4D timeline but it just fully dawned on me that Bill is just straight up dead from the entire time of The Passing to The Parish and that makes me sad just fully thinking about the fact that he’s not alive for most of L4D2’s campaign 😭😭

I loved those couple of years I spent doing rounds with the same few people in L4D/L4D2. Working together was a joy, we got into rhythms, and hooboy was it a rush when we were down to one person and everyone was spotting for them so we could progress

I will have to check if I grabbed L4D2 but if the timezone is not too outlandish for me and you're fine with someone who sucks at it but like to have fun, I would be totally game.
