I don't think it would work like that, the approach AFAICT is to let people/orgs stand up their own namespaces. Your IdPro example is a good one. They already own their domain namespace, so would just use that (much like how e.g. news orgs can use their domain names to self-verify).

I update the RookID database when possible and frequently during draft season, and IDPro (annual projections) update usually once a month in the off-season.
