Pixel art and campaigns but Hommoe🌈has higher complexity.
Anno 117 was pretty good, you can hexedit the exe to remove the time limit but the game crashed in 2 hours and no saves.

Well I guess I won't be using the Motorola XPR 7550 at Head of the Charles since:
1. The ICS-205 changed.
2. The codeplug is a bitch to program.
2. I'm not really in the mood to hexedit the CPS so I can use 25khz...
Looks like I'll use the Yaesu FT-5D instead or maybe my Anytone 868.

@rogerbennett.bsky.social Lovely to see you again. I hope you had a good time. I think I might have mentioned Ascorbious's Machinema to you. If not I must have been drinking hexedit.

Depending on format used, a tool like antiword has a good chance of still extracting the text. Its even possible by hand with a tool like hexedit.
If its truncated some data will be unrecoverable, if it's corrupted you can probably recover just about all of it.

The first time was when, on using OSX, I couldn’t work out which .config file, which obscure registry entry I needed to hexedit to change the icon of MacintoshHD, all set to chain command line pipes, & the Mac guru blew my mind by dragging & dropping the .ico file onto the Preferences dialogue

I programmed in hex (binary) with AI. It was surprisingly adept at creating programs that print ASCII art. The resulting code was copied into a hex editor and run with DOSBox. Follow-up article coming soon!

Looking at the tarball in hexedit, it looks to me like the ustar path prefix field *does* contain the goobligook that python and busybox are prepending. Why is GNU tar ignoring that?

We're making the telecom system for a $10,000,000 spacecraft, and I'm the one in charge of programming it. So I got to compose the first ever message to be successfully transmitted by the Lunar Environment Monitoring Station for Artemis III:

О этот странный момент, когда тебе нужно поправить несколько символов в файле на 22гб. nano - достаточно удобный вариант, если у вас больше 22гб оперативки со свапом. Он просто вгружает файл в оперативку.
Проблему решал потом все равно с помощью hexedit, не смог в уме посчитать символы и смещение.

I'm running hexedit on the drive from a live USB. Searching for a known unique string: "Über Spades" (About Spades, in the German translation). I know this string to be present among the data I'm looking for because it's in a screenshot I posted here.

Today the toolchain broke, so I've hexedit-ed the binary to fix a bug.

I don’t know anything about that but I do remember using hexedit on a bunch of games. I played fallout 1 with all 10s stats, for example.

That's super cool. I remember esheep back in the day, similar sort of idea albeit less interactive. I spent so many hours using hexedit to change the colors of the sheep.
