#HPPD
The image in my mind is always warping and moving like an acid or mushroom trip. Not sure if it was always that way or just HPPD from way too much drugs

I saw your post on BipolarSky. I never heard of HPPD before. I’m just a really curious person. How did they manage to differentiate enough to give you both a non-psychotic hallucination disorder and (almost) always psychotic hallucination disorder (schizoaffective)?

I should say that it was actually very intense for me, it's just that I've been experiencing dissociation and derealization AND all the visual disturbances associated with HPPD since I was a teen, so the uptick in visual disturbances didn't really register for me for ages lol.

My personal theory of what causes HPPD; I don't think it's actually something that's "new". I think psilocybin is so good at breaking your patterns of thought that it can also break some of your more complex visual processes that are unique to every person.
I've also experienced HPPD once before tho so I can verify the reality of it, and personally it did not really effect me as much as it does a lot of other people.

It effects some people very hard though, and for this reason I cannot recommend anyone take psilocybin.

HPPD is a frightfully common and long lasting side effect of psilocybin and people really need to be warned about it.

It's not some scrommitting shit where if you take too much of it you're obviously going to poison yourself.

One time I gave myself Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder (HPPD) by taking LSD 3x in six weeks.

Guess what I did?

Chilled the fuck out and grounded myself.

The subject of the article and interviewee relates to his experience as being caused by HPPD, which you described as "tripping for a week", which is not an accurate description of HPPD 👍

hppd is really funny because i read about it like oh that makes sense, but also i've already had that sorts of visual phenomena long before i ever did any drugs

the worst things that can happen if you do lsd : Flashbacks(HPPD) , memory/concentration issues if abused for long term(weed does the same shit) psychosis in people predisposed to it (actually debated and weed can do this too)

HPPD is not "tripping for a week'. It's a combination of symptoms related to extremely common visual disturbances and derealization.

Derealization is also extremely common, most people will experience it in their life time, and can even be triggered from something as simple as dehydration.

apparently only around 1%-4% of the population have complete mind blindness (aphantasia) and I just so happen to be one of them lol.. I can still sorta like, imagine things, but there's just no visuals to it, only black space + static from my hppd

HPPD is like "Hey shitass, I know you just wanted a toke but what if the back yard started fucking melting?"

And then I stare at a wall for 20 mins
