This is the Hegseth meme that has prompted the creation of and the listings on the Mental Health Stigma Slingers moderation list.

It is misinformation. It also is very hurtful for already overwhelmed, oppressively marginalized people.

I am flattered but I am also 2.3k behind in vetting mostly political oriented accounts. I’m spending decreasing less time on politics and more on the MH communities so anyone who follows me without bipolar or another MH term in their bio will be waiting awhile. And I vet very thoroughly.

I’m so happy you have George. Even through the years I can barely do anything but drool in front of the tv, our dogs kept me in the routine because they needed me and I respond to need real well

life for tortuous years only to finally get told the few happy times in my life were also part of the illness and that was going to have to give those up to get better. I am so thankful and it is an amazing joy to celebrate everyone who survived through that. 💜

I am so sad for people with BD2. Not only do they have to suffer for months at a time with darkness that’s only touched me 4 times in my life and that feeling of keening all the way past my soul wishing I had never been born almost constantly. It’s terrifying for me to even think about living that

But then I would come back to Earth and when I didn’t drop like a rock and sleep for 3-4 months, I would find that I torched my life to the ground. Thousands of dollars in debt, precious treasures like family heirlooms just gone. People so hurt, they couldn’t even look at me, over and over for years

I had an average of 2 4-6 months stretches that felt like the song Drops of Jupiter. I remember things like sitting on a swing in the middle of the night under a full moon. Walking through a thunderstorm with lightning flashes and the feel of the wind whipping through my near waist length hair.
