it matters because there are many under the hood changes to physics and AI that the layperson might not notice but move the GZDoom/UZDoom engine away from being faithful to the stock engine. it's also why demos haven't worked in GZDoom in forever.

if youre looking for a better modern gzdoom type experience, id recommend boltgun for something fast paced or selaco for something tactical

Am I and eroguro pervert? Not quite but it can be neat. Am I a gun pervert? No but I think they’re cool. Am I a robot girl pervert? Kind of but not to that level. Am I a GZDoom pervert? Like a little. And I love good fps games so it’s definitely in my strike zone even if it’s not dead on

This one's actually from a ditched level I did earlier this year. Back then I made most geometry in GZDoom Builder and imported it into Blender. I fully switched to Blender by now and I wish I would have done it earlier. The exported topology of GZDoom Builder was a nightmare

I don't want to be only focused on Unreal Engine 4.27, I'm going to expand to more game engines (I know, GZDoom it's just a source port). I'm not an expert, I'm learning these tools.

I can *make* GZDOOM more like vanilla, though, turning off vertical mouselook and crosshair and jumping etc.

This time, 2015, I was playing Valiant on GZDoom amazed at the quality of what existed at the top.

It still doesn’t feel real.

I first played DOOM as a flash game. The freeware version was uploaded to Kongregate/Newgrounds, and it had the whole episode Knee-Deep in the dead, but without music. Thanks to that flash game, I learned about doom modding through Markplier's brutal doom video, and then I downloaded GZDoom.

200 Follower GZDOOM VR stream is delayed until I can ensure it works properly with UZDOOM... and I find out which map pack to play. May do TNT, but what I really want is a unique mix of good visuals and fun layouts. Help is appreciated.

Viewport rendering modes. Pick wireframe, solid, textured and shaded. Picking reimplemented - still refactoring some rendering calls.

I need to finish that so my Doom scorecard can be properly full. Emulating it can be a bear.

There's a GZDoom mod that approaches the Doom RPG concept from it's own angle that is interesting. I get rare opportunity to talk about it because it's pretty obscure.

At the very least, GZDoom was forked over to UZDoom, the AI-generated code was scrubbed out and (seems to) work just as fine as GZ.

Sad the same can't be said for SAMMI.

played one of the early builds back in like 2020 I think??

it was very cool but I'm not a fan at all of movement and such in gzdoom games, can't fuck with selaco eiter unfortunately

idk what it is but it always felt clunky to me, same way as the LucasArts fps to a degree
