Some quick maths based on the first 75 UK parliamentary constituencies alphabetically. Total votes cast: 3.5M. Votes for losing candidates: 1.6M. Excess votes for winning candidates: 872k. That means 70% of total votes cast were wasted votes. #firstpastthepost is so broken
