Lots of people use the word ‘bahasa’ to refer to Indonesian (bahasa Indonesia), but ‘bahasa’ just means ‘language’ - it’s from Sanskrit bhāṣā ভাষা and is used in languages all across South and Southeast Asia. Eg Malay is also Bahasa Melayu, Sundanese is Basa Sunda ᮘᮞ ᮞᮥᮔ᮪ᮓ, and Lao is Phāsa Lao ພາສາລາວ
