Staff: We don't have the authority to make those adjustments.

Alto: So, advocacy route. AVICC resolution deadline is coming up around Feb.

I support the AVICC request that British Columbia prioritizes funding the minimum required upgrades to the West to East section of the Island Corridor to allow for its use in the event of a wildfire or highway closure.

This was the top side discussion this weekend at AVICC here on the weekend I can assure you amongst the islands elected reps. The island is seeing 3 and 4 way races where the NDP have been the anything but Conservative vote for 40 years. Not like the rest of Canada where its one or the other.

Langford’s resolution to advocate for free pelvic floor physiotherapy as part of postpartum care, was supported at AVICC this morning. I am looking forward to speaking to this at UBCM in the fall and hopefully continuing this advocacy to the Province.

Today, local gov leaders at Association of Vancouver Island & Coastal Communities passed a resolution to urge #BCgov to legislate the #CoastalMarineStrategy. 🎉 A strong BC coastal law will ensure that the Strategy is successfully brought to life. www.wcel.org/media-releas... #bcpoli #AVICC

The AVICC Conference kicks off Friday in Nanaimo, with Mayors and councillors from across the region debating priorities to bring to the provincial government.

Use of AAP's, as well as developer cost charges top Nanaimo's list.

Thanks for doing this to all the city staff, the program operator and for #YYJ council supporting the spending. I can 100% tell you that this is why I am able to spend more time downtown Victoria and visit more businesses, eat shop etc . I even used it for the AVICC conference 💚🚲 #ridebikeshavefun
This is what holistic safety and wellbeing looks like.

Our city-funded bike valet has drastically reduced bike thefts, and therefore costs and safety concerns for riders.

Absolutely, when I attended the AVICC conference last spring I parked near Langford and rode my bike into the event each day. What an awesome service thanks to Capital Bike and City of Victoria.
