No project is too uninteresting to be initiated.
No interest is too random to be pursued.
No task is too important to be left unfinished —due to the above random interesting uninteresting projects.

I work in film/tv, where I start and finish things.

Part of the reason I'm more concerned about my parents being scammed than mugged is that they receive multiple calls per day trying to scam them and do not receive multiple mugging attempts per day. I also feel like the cops would maybe try to catch the mugger vs scammers who'd 100% get away with it

I know a 10yo girl who has seen both films many times and dressed as one of the blue critters just this past Halloween.

Just teeing up the They Live quotes here.

I’m able to joke because I hadn’t yet heard there was a shooting and hadn’t read details. Will be requisitely somber in a moment.

What if the whales just want to watch Star Trek IV on a loop and we have to start limiting their screen time?

In a post-Icke world it’d be inadvisable to have reptiles represent any ethnicity related to Israel/Palestine. —Another reason I’d doubt that was the intention. But people are always going to interpret things based on what’s at the top of mind at the time of release and maybe that’s more interesting

That part of the story is along the lines of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, except with a patent instead of a will, and set in a world after the judge won. IMO both are likely inspired by LA’s Bunker Hill neighborhood given the focus on policing and municipal corruption. But more can be read in.

I think it’s hilarious that bluesky brain and conservative commentator brain both readily read current events into the barest thread of social commentary. I saw the film today and it’s a convoluted eminent domain tale that goes both ways on nature vs nurture.

“There’s a huge opportunity here if Trump acts in a way he has never acted and shows mental faculties he has never demonstrated having” is a very popular genre of think piece
