The problem is they have scared off high skill workers toowith all the nonsense over ILR (I can confirm this is causing issues for us at Oxford). That’s on Blue Labour.

Mike Tapp MP, Minister for Migration and Citizenship, was questioned by the House of Lords Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee about the proposed changes to ILR. His answer continues to leave us legal migrants in the dark.

Not to sound like a broken record about this, but Labour’s little retrospective surprise for those of us from post-2020 will turn our lives upside down, not to mention the damage it will do to industries and the UK’s reputation for attracting talent from abroad.

- I think govt are probably agreed on no retrospective loss of ILR
- they are agreed on earned settlement tiers for new arrivals
- they plan to extend ILR timelines for some recent arrivals, not others
- who they will say on who must leave ???
