A lot of people already don’t trust experts, so you just have to appeal to their existing fear, plus the naturalistic fallacy, to consolidate power. There’s a purity component to it too, where synthetic drugs are seen as contaminating one’s body but “natural” ones are okay.

When you translate this to “stop trusting experts, trust us instead”, it starts making sense (not logically, but as a means to an end).

If you want to teach writing, actively encouraging students to use a device that discourages them from writing seems counterproductive. If you want to teach history, or any other discipline that isn’t computer science, why waste class time on fads?

Conservatives want to undermine any expertise they don’t control, and get people habituated to “natural” “cures” (which ideally can be turned into supplements that they profit from).

As trans people we pose a threat to the security of every border and to the concept of borders itself. No national defense agency will ever be on our side.

If you don’t like that, consider fighting against Newsom!

I won’t vote at all. If trans people don’t have civil rights, no one else deserves them either.

like hmm hey i know some of you haven't shaken off the whole pop-psych "until you're 25 you're basically cognitively impaired" myth but infantilizing young adults has real consequences for my community so can we be less weird about bodily autonomy for like. a minute,

Bodily autonomy will never be a reality without prison abolition and family abolition

Respecting a child’s right to leave their family for any reason is the only way to guarantee that any child can leave an abusive family, and if we respected that right, it would end the family as we know it. Only recently have adult women had this right, and we can and must do the same for children.

Gender and sex assignment at birth is an inherently violent act

Also, abolish the family, and abolish policing (which doesn’t mean just abolishing police, but also social workers and teachers performing the same functions)

Anyway: pornographic art and performance is good, people have a right to the vast majority of their kinks, and it is ridiculous that consenting adults are finding those rights strangled by big tech and payment platforms

Also, if power imbalances are what make it unacceptable for people above a certain age to have sex with people below a certain age, then that's subject to change. Which may be hard to accept, but has to be accepted if you aren't going to write off entire cultures as being completely abusive.
