The same goes for people who express a new-found concern for the poor when an energy transition beckons. They attempt this gambit even today, when renewables are cheaper than fossil fuels.

I'm not sure why the British Prime Minister (in this capacity) sends public condolences on the shooting of Kirk who has had no government office or public life achievement. Technically, Kirk was the co-founder & CEO of a US non-profit. It's a domestic incident. I find this diplomatically unusual.
