Just occasionally I get a good idea. On one property I look after I've hit upon a solution for folk complaining I don't keep my phone on me on 4.5 ha / 11 ac of grounds. Can I call it a social media app with notifications? 🤪

🌱 I was given one of these beautiful little solar lanterns. And I think I'm in love. Definitely going on my Christmas list. Want to get more to hang under a big magnolia tree. Check out sonnenglas.

Candle making is such a pleasure, but somehow I always manage to forget how much of a real pain in the ass it is cleaning up afterwards. #beekeeping

I WAS using a bucket for the tools and bits I need to work on the bee hives. Friend made a box out of wood scraps for what I need, and I spent a glorious 2 afternoons in the shade painting it. It's possible that from this moment henceforth I'll be addicted to stencils.

Sooo many noble glorious woofers on mine I don't know where to take the pic. I have my faves, and at the moment it's the Robert Plant standard poodle

🌱 I definitely need to learn some tips for flower arranging. As it is, I just put long ones at the back and short ones up front, but so so satisfying to prepare a small gift like this from the garden

Just when I thought I'd finished a full day chainsaw session, and old cedar sheds this 20m from where I was standing. Now gotta get up there to clean it up too. Just hope it's not too bad. Grrrrrr , I guess the resident tree spirits didn't appreciate the work

Loving this crepe myrtle doing it's thing in the heat

Next honey super ready for the busiest bee hive

🌱 You know, you're some of the folk in my day who I know will get a kick out of this as much as I do. Was given a small chunk of sprouting red ginger from Sumatra in April. Look at this monster now. Can't wait to get a chunk into a Lemon tea.

Oh wow, I love the variety you got there. Beautiful. Would love to do something like this with Angustifolia on 1 meadow field (but smaller - maybe 50). Really give the honey harvest some pop in a couple of years.

With a 40'C heatwave incoming, it's time to pay extra attention to the girls being comfortable. Extra shade, extra water source, shims under the top cover to give extra circulation, polyfoam panels protection for the metal roof. Mesh bottom boards were already on ... Hey beeks, anything I've missed?

2 days late for my weekly with the girls this afternoon, and they (hive 1) gave me a heap to do, to prepare for their honey super. They'd built a mass of burrcomb stocked with fresh warm honey. Had my first lick of the year. Oh my. Warm, perfumed with bees wax, spring sunshine.

🌱 Don't you just love a dalhia? My phone camera comes close, but not close enough. Could look at them every day
July 12, 2023 at 8:00 PM
Not in a big way because I can get round mine with the mower or the wacker. There's a patch I allow it, and there's 5 younger. About us thick as my thumb 🌱

🌱 Staghorn Sumac - makes a really good lemony infusion. I've got Moroccan mint too, so might get my wizard hat on and brew some iced potion 🤪
