I much prefer the park near me that is mostly just hiking trails though the natural forest. You see lots of wildlife and it’s so serene to walk there. The trails are maintained to keep them walkable but that’s it. It’s the way nature intended it to be.

It’s so weird sitting in a bar when you don’t drink but I had 1/2 hour I needed to kill and the bowling alley lounge was the only place I could go sit. The atmosphere felt alien to me.

I've never seen nutmeg in sticks like that before, only pods. But, yes I do use it in sauces through the year as well as for baking so it does get finished off but it is one of those spices where a little goes a long way.

I’m STILL eating down the fridge over the last month, and I’m so thankful for all my Asian “Aunties”that I grew up watching them make a feast from basically nothing and leftover veggies. None of them rich, but they could feed an army on pennies. This is made from veggie odds & ends. 🍜🍽️

Oh God, I forgot I had to go into Walmart to pick up prescriptions, on black friday. You don't even want to know my experience but I am going to need a lot of prayer and meditation to overcome the trauma. The consumerism was in full force and tons of plastic crap filling carts...

This is wild to me! I canceled cable tv, but kept internet. They are charging me $2.50 a month because I am receiving over the air FREE TV with an antenna I own. How is this even legal? And then the $1 for the hell of it. Astound Broadband is the company.

Ever since my mom passed away, my dinners have become so simple. I’m going to need to learn to shop for one person again. Everything changed in my world/life. Oh and since mom died, my friends have disappeared. When this season passes, I won’t be calling them. I’ll make new supportive friends.

Went to Poulsbo WA today to pick up my mother’s ashes. You can’t go to Poulsbo without going to Sluys Bakery. We grew up on Poulsbo bread which originated here at this bakery. Best bakery ever and always packed with customers.

The moment I cried as they crowned me “Miss Norway” at the Sons of Norway Lodge. I did NOT want to run for this title but did so to please my parents, I was 16 yrs old. So many girls tried so hard for this title, and I felt bad for them when I won. I was expecting to lose (continued)

Yesterday I canned a bunch of corned beef hash. I have a crap ton of corned beef in the freezer I got on sale after St Patrick’s and I’m not a huge fan of boiled dinner, but I do like hash. I think I’m good for a long while. 🍜🍽️

Something to save my sanity is when I log in to this place I look at what is trending. Instantly this morning I see there is going to be a lot of rage based on that. I read headlines, I get the gist of what is going on, while protecting my inner peace. It's going to be ugly on social media for a bit

It's been a long time with responsibilities since I've been able to sneak away across the street into the rain forest. I'll be taking "me time" more often again without the 24/7 exhausting care of my elderly mom. Walkabouts are great for healing the mind/body/soul.

These are the two wedding rings the hospital “lost” until I threatened to call the cops & the hospital administrator. They suddenly found them! The smaller one was my grandma’s ring and the larger one my dad gave my mom on their wedding day. Mom was wearing them when she passed away.
