For me, it's about setting a tone for the rest of the record, a pronouncement. Not necessarily the best track but the one that makes you sit up and lean in.

Eating is internal combustion.

AI is not going to do this. It's going to pander to you. It won't challenge you or withhold. I know why people might want that, but that's a sad, empty existence to want for yourself.

I watched that BTS feature years ago and it stuck with me because it showed an artist deliberating, saying "Oh, I've done this before" and trying something else. As a viewer, I may have wanted the gnarliest scene, but he didn't think it needed it (it didn't).

Artists grow and change. They get bored. They decide to play with their audiences. They seek new ideas, new inspirations. That's not probability.

Cronenberg deleted a dream sequence from A History of Violence because it was too similar to his other work. That's an artist making a choice to not repeat himself, to subvert the expected. AI wouldn't do that. AI would do the thing Cronenberg had done before because it was most probable.
