OR land near Maracaibo to back an opposition/separatist group. In either case, after invading and pacifying this region (which, again, no troops or aircraft necessary for such an operation have been brought to bear), US troops would have to drive over 400 miles to Caracas...

Not surprising when you consider the challenges of invading Venezuela. Caracas sits in a valley of the coastal mountain range. Anything more than a limited air mobile or airborne attack would require an invasion to a larger staging area, probably at Cumaná or in the Gulf of Praia...

There is no buildup or unusual activity at Fort Bragg, Joint Base San Antonio, or within Air Mobility Command.
On the 21st a B-52H bomber, a RC-135 Rivet Joint surveillance aircraft, a F/A-18 Super Hornet, and KC-135 refueling tanker conducted operations near Venezuela.

Even if the figures on the green energy transition in China are accurate, it doesn't change the fact that China is the most overleveraged society in history. 5 years ago they were approaching double the private debt to GDP ratio of the US during the peak of subprime.
