gorsuch in particular is just monstrously arrogant. the portrait of a fart sniffer.
It is really, really hard to get your head around the raw hubris of the majority. They really will be destabilizing the operating structure of the entire U.S. government. Why? Because they believe they have a better idea about how the past century should've been done.
Justice Gorsuch: Is it possible--"just maybe"--that we're setting our sights far too low and we should be blowing up many more structures of modern government?

it’s been pretty funny to see Polis’ addiction to posting completely end any discussion of him as a potential 2028 candidate

Today’s media would absolutely have said, “Hitler had a point.” Please be prepared for them to say something like that when Trump proposes putting little girls in a reeducation camp.
For all his unfounded beliefs and suspicions, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.,’s revolt isn’t against research but against the power long held by scientific insiders—and in this he might have a point, Daniel Immerwahr writes.

Olivia Nuzzi is set for life, folks.

She'll fail up. She played the game in the most gross, shameless way possible.

Just watch. The Town protects its own.

I’mma put you on game it’s always a start of some story involving a felony.
There’s a young lady on the clock app who posted a video of her finding out her leasing office discovered she used a CPN on her application and decided to record the whole scenario on her profile. Now she’s apparently in trouble with the law and has a court case coming up.

Anyone from New York remember our boomer about puppy getting caught with a man back in the 90s? The point of the river was that he had his own castle. This was in the 90s!

I am not watching that Diddy documentary. I heard about that man since the early 90s when I was in NY. I hated him then and I hate him now. I don’t need any more trauma.

I think part of What's Going On with billionaires is that the daily friction of interacting with normal people is part of what anchors people to the real world, and once you have enough money to buy your way out of the friction you can knock down a load-bearing column propping up your sanity.

Last week @theverge.com published my essay exploring the limitations of large-language models. This week, that same essay is cited by a federal judge in Michigan to distinguish the process of human reasoning from what these models do. Very, very gratifying.

holy shit, an accurate legal critique of LLMs. LLMs don't reason because they're just stitching together plausible-looking sentences indifferent to the content

Do we have to go through this every off cycle? MAGA doesn’t go out and vote unless the Cheeto is on the ballot BUT regla republicans will always squeak a win in deep red states.
The narrow margin gave Democrats cause to celebrate as they fight to retake the House next year. And it spelled trouble for Speaker Mike Johnson’s efforts to retain his slim majority: Even though Van Epps won, the Republican significantly underperformed. www.politico.com/news/2025/12...

I was worried my kids would rely on AI as a shortcut but they hate it. They use "AI" to mean stupid or cheap ("aimbot" means good). I tried to say AI is helpful for some things and my daughter said "yeah, for making you stupid." This is how they talked about Drake after "Not Like Us" came out

White people NEED to stop using "unc."

White people appropriating Black language is upsetting enough, but White people who know NOTHING about the social histories of Black masculinity (or the role of elder Black men as intergenerational mentors and community leaders) need to shut the FUCK up.

DEI is actually the only thing that can save the U.S. from its French and British fate but so many racial and ethnic groups are enthusiastically colluding with white supremacy to prevent true inclusion that I think this country is cooked.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.
