Crumbl is offering a “gluten friendly” cookie on its menu this week. Gluten is certainly not friendly to anyone with celiac disease—and this phrasing implies the product isn’t guaranteed to be 100% gluten-free.

PSA: The Reese’s holiday shapes ARE gluten-free and you CAN eat them if you have celiac disease. There’s a myth circulating on social media that the holiday shapes aren’t gluten-free because they don’t have a gluten-free label—but it’s recently been debunked by a few celiac dietitians.

In writing up my guide to gluten-free label reading for next week, I wanted to share an example of a product sold in the US that is labeled gluten-free but not deemed celiac-safe by experts. How can this be?

Another example of a business making it harder for people with celiac disease and food allergies to order: I noticed that @blankstreetcofee.bsky.social now has a disclaimer on all of their drinks (including plain black coffee!!!) stating that they may contain top allergens. This is wild.
