I want you all to know that I am a Marxist.

Yeah I propose solutions to problems we face under capitalism that work within capitalism but that's because there isn't a glorious revolution on the horizon and I want the world to get better now.

remember this holiday season not to give any fucking money the people dressed in red ringing bells, giving what cash you have in your back pocket to somebody asking for it on the corner is a better use of your money

dear trans siblings: you can improve your mental health 10x by just not being on twitter!
No, flexing your transition progress on transphobes isnt a dub, nor is ratio'ing them or debating them. You are just exposing yourself to horrid stuff for no reason. You deserve better :v

I need the more technical users I follow to start posting about the cool shit you do more.

My feeds are so negative, I'm just getting Twitter 2 and that's what I was trying to avoid.

Also need to work on this myself tbh

If we solve aging, appreciating transience becomes more, not less, important.

Imagine some 500-year-old dude still trying to RETVRN to 90s Pizza Hut.

Things will still change and evolve, and you will have to learn to deal with things you love being in the *very* distant past.

So I learned that you can break screws.

I was assembling my new Prusa Core One and I was tightening one of the screws that connects the frame and CoreXY plate.

And pop! The head came clean off: xenia.sh/so-it-turns-...
So it turns out you can break screws (Project Prusa Core 1: Update 2)
So I made some significant progress on assembling my 3D printer. I got the CoreXY frame mounted, the extruder assembled and plugged in. Just need to put o...

taxing the rich WORKS
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

All basic necessities should be free. That means food, water, clothing, housing, healthcare, etc.

Economic activity should be reserved for leisure and luxuries.

Artificial scarcity is the bane of humanity, and every single thing that profits off it should be free.

We also should abolish economies of profit and exploitation in general, but that's a natural consequence here.

Food is the most obvious example, but there are other things too.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Disagree with the idea accepting death is something we have to do at all. Especially because some rich people don't want to die. Rich people eat too doesn't mean that food is bad.

I'd rather we cure death for everyone. Not by making a weird simulacrum of a person but actually curing death.
at some point we ought to interrogate the link between the techbro-freak demographic and cowardice in confronting death anxiety. not usually one to go "society has gotten too soft and that's why everyone is weird now" but in this case it feels salient. I think we unlearned how to accept death
