I need more discussion of this movie that’s not just ‘omg this cartoon movie is so dark’.
It’s a movie with a beautiful style that is both a frank condemnation of what we put animals through and a genuinely fascinating existentialist allegory.
A tough watch but one that deserves more credit.

Playing the original Resident Evil for the first time tonight has been a really cool experience. Not just because it’s a cool arcadey, challenging game.
But because it’s fascinating to see the contrast of tense, effective atmosphere, against the total B-movie schlock of the story and voice acting.

And with that…I’ve cleared Silent Hill f’s final ending.
I loved this.
Despite being a radically different title on the surface, this is a game that GETS Silent Hill both narratively and mechanically, and delivers on that while maintaining its fresh voice.
With one of the series’ best stories yet

Plus it was nice to have moral support when revisiting the worst final level and final boss in the series. 😅
