Reminder: This vast consolidation of wealth and power at the top has not been due to neutral market forces.

There’s no such thing as a “free market.”

It is designed.

It either advances public purposes or it serves the monied interests.

Can I let you in on a little secret?

Billionaire philanthropy isn’t charity.

It’s PR to distract you from low wages, labor exploitation, and a tax system that’s rigged for the rich.

Home insurance is in crisis, and Big Oil's lies are to blame.

"We’re never going to bend the curve of ever-rising insurance costs without addressing the core driver of higher prices: the worsening climate disasters that Big Oil knowingly made a reality," explains CCI's @iylas.bsky.social.

America’s still terrified of powerful women in politics.

It’s pure misogyny baked into the system. Add race to the mix and it’s on a whole different level of hate that most won’t even admit. Time to get over that shit!

Let’s take a step forward on Tuesday.

Things are so mean-spirited right now, this made me tear up. In the gratuitously cruel age of Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Mike Johnson, it's comforting to be reminded that there still are decent human beings that walk amongst us. Thank you, Heretic Coffee in Portland.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

44% of Americans are paid less than a living wage by their employers, and forced to rely on taxpayer-funded social safety nets like SNAP.

Programs like SNAP subsidize the profits of companies like Walmart, Starbucks and McDonald’s who pay poverty wages.

Hope this helps.
