Martin Schneider 7h • ... Hello. I'm sad today because on Saturday, Nov 22, on the advice of my veterinarian, I was obliged to cease the earthly activities of my dog, Waffles. I was able to come into possession of Waffles in 2014 due to friendly acts on the part of Ryan Foltz and Angie Hetrick. She was a year old at that time and had clearly been through some trauma. She was a great companion to me and I think I gave her roughly 11 good years of life. She did not "play well with others" (which means other dogs). She was a popular dog to the children in my Westpark neighborhood and it was always a treat to see how much they liked to pet her, or to tell a (slightly) frightened kid they could pet her, etc. I think I cut quite a figure walking her every day and it'll be weird not to do that. She once bit me pretty bad in the face but she didn't really mean it. Or maybe she did, she was a domesticated animal. Anyway I didn't hold it against her. In 2020, in the middle of Covid, I traveled with her to Los Angeles where we spent a few weeks. She didn't love the car travel but she didn't complain much. Every time I entered my house after being out, I would say the words, "Hey Waffles, what's going on?" It is such a stupid joke to ask a dog what is going on. She never really got back to me about it. I enjoyed taking care of her, it's the closest thing to a parental relationship I have. I will take a few months off of pet ownership and I'll get back into the mix at some point in 2026. Really, she made it pretty easy. Thanks for your support and have a good day.

No idea about the facts, but I bet the reason Emmanuel Clase engaged in illegal baseball activities was that he needed to be able to tell himself that he was so great a pitcher that he could be successful in his job even after conceding the first pitch to the batter on occasion.

I've been reading the Elmores in chronological order. For the first time it is 100% clear that his early-80s switch to Miami was.... rough.

This one ends good but has too much going on and it's a little confusing in places and not that interesting.
