He’s a Syrian hamster which is the largest domestic species! I think a lot of people think of the Dwarf species of hamsters which are half their size! Odin isn’t particularly big for his kind but I have had larger females in the past! I also have very small rat-like hands 😂

They are marketed as children’s toys and although some hamsters are tame off the bat, most need work on making them feel safe! Honestly I don’t think they’re good children’s pets!

This was his shelter ad just 2 weeks ago! He was labled nervous and unhandlable. I’m thrilled with his progress, he’s such a happy confident lad
