Great question for a webinar: Who owns the street? For decades, the car industry claimed public space for itself and framed this as normal. But the tide is turning — time to rethink our streets. 👉 www.linkedin.com/events/justs...

A staple of any city bike fleet: the Bahnhofsrad a bike that looks old and a bit rusty, making it seem way too unappealing to bother stealing. I just finished mine . It has parts from at least 4 different donor bicycles. Rusty screws, the frame is scratched and dirty but in generally good condition

Most politicians ignore the massive costs of car-centric mobility and still pretend pushing cars is somehow a win for society. Meanwhile, the proven benefits of active mobility get dismissed and every cent invested is scrutinized. Feels like a severe case of #CarBrain gripping our collective mindset

It’s not an accident. It’s a crash. It could have been avoided. With political courage . We should not sugarcoat the problem by not shouting out loud who is to blame !

Decorating my office pinboard with funny and inspirational cards, posters, and little sparks of motivation to keep the energy high throughout the day. Including the ingenious 15-minute-cities reframing of @tomflood.bsky.social

Looks like the weather this week is perfect to test whether my winter cycling setup actually works.

It’s wild how hard it seems for Austrian journalists to clearly describe road violence. A driver ran over a cyclist and killed her. She didn’t “collide” with a car. The car didn’t move on its own. A driver killed her while she was waiting to turn — high-viz, helmet, lights on.

I’m hating it.

Me on a bike in a museum in the lovely town of Steyr, Upper Austria, just having finished pedalling enough to generate the energy needed to take this selfie. A fascinating reminder of how much power even simple digital actions require. 💦🚲⚡

Everyday life is full of small choices and opportunities to move more. Whenever possible I choose the stairs. It’s the healthier option and an easy way to add mini workouts into your daily routine. #GymOfLife

Outstandingly dangerous intersection design: two right-turn lanes crossing both a zebra and a bike lane. Drivers block each other’s view and the view of cyclists and pedestrians making it a high-risk spot for everyone. That really needs to be fixed. @radlobby.at maps.app.goo.gl/qipzgYwkfVBJ...

My 3 beauties all lined up. I can’t hide that I have a passion for classic Mountainbikes 😂

Another appreciation post for the bike + train combo! Wind and rain this morning, but I still wanted my ride. Threw on my rain gear, cycled to the nearest station, and skipped the longest (and wettest) part. Still got my exercise without arriving soaked!

I love research, especially in cycling infrastructure. But if a project in 2025 still asks whether paint alone makes roads safe for cyclists, amid cars going 100 km/h and trucks or buses 80 km/h, it’s a waste of time, money.

Used a lot of multi oil and lubricant during the process to make it easier the next time.🧴

The old parts 😵 what you really need is a loooong wrench to get those old filthy and rusty parts loose.
