Extremely online, for a better world, somehow.

I love evil pop music, leftwing politics, Atlanta people, New Orleans parties, and SF community.
I’m watching curling and Japan just conceded the last frame only down 3… that seems doable, like at least possible enough to try in *the olympics*

This is the Dems’ first GOP-style policy win in a long while: get what you want despite being out of power through forced votes and lapsed deadlines. In other words: hardball.

I bet with the right pitch and manipulation, we could get Presidents Day moved to the Monday after the Super Bowl. Tell Trump that Washington invented the forward pass and originally called it “a trump”

Let’s take this proposition seriously for a moment: if ai does actually replace most jobs, it will create a vast underclass of unemployable idle workers, with the machines extracting their last bits of value and funneling it to the owners, until society is depleted and only a few owners remain.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Obviously *obviously* this is stock-pumping bullshit, but also it betrays a dream of Grok being unshackled from earthbound laws, free to deep fake porn until the sun explodes

Feels even more correct now that the DOJ dumped the raw files, with confirmed accusations thrown in with outlandish ones and the perps redacted, all to encourage conspiracy theorists to spin up and make the whole data dump feel silly and impossibly absurd.
Qanon was created to immunize Trump against the current Epstein fallout, but it was too successful, its adherents too committed. It was supposed to make accusations of outlandishly absurd crimes a joke to be dismissed, but the wine moms took it too seriously

Starmer is an electoral liability. Likely successors taking soundings in Westminster.

The next leader must not come from the Starmer camp.

Yes but maintaining the No Consequences part is the point of the Moral Panic stuff
It’s really weird for some corners of the media to do a whole “the Epstein files are a moral panic that has gone too far” thing when no one has faced any sort of punishment and doesn’t sound like they’re going to.

So is their argument that there wasn’t anyone here when Manifest Destiny drove Americans west, or that native communities didn’t recognize the concept of private property so Americans couldn’t steal something no one considered to be owned? Or an even dumber third option? (I canceled my sub)

DOJ crowd sourced the Epstein files redactions
The DOJ redacted a photo of Mona Lisa in the Epstein files.

Meanwhile, as we reported, there were several unredacted, sexually explicit photos of nude women or girls were present in the latest Epstein dump and the DOJ left those photos online until we reported specific links through their tipline.
