In all seriousness, sheriffs in dem states should consider deputizing, training, and arming people now to increase their numbers and make sure that local laws (like murder) are enforced. The fact that federal agents outnumber local police allows them to intimidate them, making obstruction easier.

Christ the video of that killing is horrifying. But what happens in it is also far worse than calling it a shooting gets across. It is an execution. There’s a single unjustifiable shot and then a decision to just fire several more rounds into a prone victim.

@cayimby.bsky.social What came out of CA's Single-Exit Stair Work Group? I saw that they had to submit findings by Jan 1. WI is considering a similar bill (creating a cmtee) and I want to encourage the legislature to instead just make the change rather than spending years studying it.

At Madison Plan Commission tonight, they are revising the changes to the city tree protection ordinance from 5 ft for all trees to 1f/inch tree diameter.

Oh no I'm late for Madison Plan Commission. But yes lots of discussion of TREES tonight. A proposed ordinance will extend the "tree protection zone" from 5 ft to 1 ft/inch trunk diameter. Also 73 unit apartment approved at 121 N Butler on the consent agenda.
