...there's nothing wrong with disagreement. Few still loyal to labour (and that's a tiny number in itself now) are in that position from an intellectual basis. They're the red flag loyalists, all they've got left is abuse

The alternative isn’t creating a new tax system from nothing in six weeks. It’s beging honest with the electorate that the European-style public services they demand requires European tax levels inconsistent with the 40 year-long taboo of not raising income tax.
