I agree that it was orchestrated and telegraphed but I would have expected more of a response to using your large bombing aircraft to bomb infrastructure of a country that has been considered an arch enemy of the United States for like 40 years

I think the entire lack of response to the Iran bombing impacts this. The general public will not consider it to be war without boots on the ground and I think the odds of boots on the ground are very low

I take this as the vote to ban Israel failed but these nations have chosen not to participate?

Points to the point others have made about American politics being an oral culture that pretends to be a written culture. No one expects someone to actually do the reading

I am skeptical that there would be boots on the ground in a jungle even if things escalate. My expectations for how ground attacks would go would be a hell of a lot of bombing and a handful of soldiers to collect Maduro and bring him to Trump

We are lucky that the admin has not been able to sell it to this point because media would love nothing more than a rally around the flag for trump
December 4, 2025 at 5:06 PM
I suspect that media is going to be very confused by the amount of support he will get

If Johnson had a working relationship with Thune or the Senate Dems and was smart I could see this working but the all stick no carrot White House insists on an all stick no carrot house
December 4, 2025 at 4:52 AM
I’m not sure how that doesn’t turn into a circular firing squad. It would also require the senate to play along which I do not think they are inclined to do

Tariffs and it seems that the ag sectors generally have just not had a good time. Think I saw something that they are down something like 6% YoY

I think there is fair concern that she would raise a shit ton of money but lose in what could be a winnable race assuming Paxton is the nominee
December 4, 2025 at 3:12 AM
If the Dems have to have members of congress that will cast bad votes I want them to be entertaining cranks that will create a graphic like this
December 4, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Definitely passing but the lack of leftovers does seem a bit concerning

Yes.

A shaheed clone is innovation?

Almost all politics has devolved to fandom and of everything going on politically it may be the thing I hate the most
December 4, 2025 at 1:57 AM
From the outside looking it it really seems as if there is very little institutional or elite support for small l liberalism in the UK
December 3, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Hunt’s lack of name recognition really carrying here. The little bit I have seen of him makes him seem just as if not more nuts than Paxton
December 3, 2025 at 10:04 PM
Wonder how much of this is the blame going on the system as a whole instead of the companies individually
