This is why — and take a deep breath because this is my most controversial sims opinion — TS4 should be on a subscription model. 😬
They should have made the shift as soon as they decided to make TS4 a "forever" game. Perhaps back in 2023 when they made base game free to play? If not earlier.

I've realized say my problem with TS4 is that it has aged into bloat. At first, everyone said TS4 was too empty, but now it's the opposite: it's just too much: too many systems overlapping and not working well together, notifications etc. There was a sweet spot a few years ago, but it's over.

It looks like corruption is not due to mods or overly cluttered builds as we've been told but it's more of an inevitable result of world building and playing the game to its full potential with all of its features. This is beyond bad.

If you want to test out ( for science!) how the save corruption works, take a look at this new post about it on the forum.
The corruption comes from replacing lots basically, and mostly in Willow Creek. That's where it starts.

99% recycled basegame assets (I think I spy one new palm tree in the still teaser graphic they dropped on discord) when 80% of Aotearoa / New Zealand’s plant life is completely unique to that region

Still they surprisingly picked a region they could easily build using 99% recycled assets…I’m pretty sure that’s one of the requirements for new worlds now, and if we no one holds them accountable for that it will only get worse and we will never get a Sub-Saharan Africa world

With For Rent, they have 11 issues where they need mod-free saves that are experiencing the issue. If there's anyone that plays vanilla saves* and have these bugs, the community could really use your help.
*Can console players share saves? Not sure how that works.
