If game design can be understood as an art of verbs, then Spanish-speaking game designers should be the best in the world.

Si entendemos el diseño de juegos como el arte de los verbos, los diseñadores de juegos hispanohablantes deberían ser los mejores del mundo.

The difference between wearing a fedora in the 1940s and wearing a fedora today, is that in the 1940s, when you're wearing a fedora, you're just wearing a hat, whereas today, when you wear a fedora, you're wearing a fedora.

Stuff like this is why I keep saying that the humanities have been an utter, colossal failure. How can you be "a renowned Holocaust historian at Emory University" and be OK with the broad outlines of what Trump is doing? How can you study the Holocaust and ignore a genocide in progress?

This visit to GDC, for sessions I am focusing on emerging technologies and production methods, and it's been very rewarding. It's helping me think more about where we want to bring game education than most of the events which are about game education 1/2

I just took the theory test for my UK driver's license. It seems when they say "theory", they mean something different from a critique of the commodity form in the design of vehicles or a discussion of the semiotics of the sports car. Yeah, that's not what they were looking for.

It's up to the EU now, which would make Europe the centre of gravity for game history and preservation.
Publishers are absolutely terrified "preserved video games would be used for recreational purposes," so the US copyright office has struck down a major effort for game preservation
