There's a nice route up through bridgeland via 7th Street NE to Bridge Crescent. I've only done Edmonton Trail once & it's so steep, but that route is rather lovely (epic view of the city going down into Bridgeland too!) 10/10 would recommend.

Yeah, my receipt from 2008 being just over $2,000 includes general fees like student dues and the U Pass. Seems on par. UofC seems to not include that stuff when they list everything out on their site.

Found a receipt from a semester there in 2007 for CAD2,000. I was likely taking at least 4 courses, so tuition seems to have doubled.

Looking at the UofC's current fee structure...it looks like 1 course is in the $700 range. That doesn't include fees, accommodations, books, etc. Given you take 4-5 courses per semester, I'd put it around $4,000 CAN per semester.

They already closed them all with no response.

It's not for the faint of heart, but we all should be able to walk out our front door & get to transit, the corner store, on our bikes without fighting for our lives. Our elderly shouldn't be stuck inside all winter because we don't do winter maintenance & they can't risk falling.

Mostly stubborn. 😜 haha. But thank you!

CALGARIANS WANT TO BIKE IN WINTER. Been a huge increase in people pushing through on our crappy infrastructure even just at our elem school. Maybe it has something to do with there being 4 UA parents there & a dozen longtails (or maybe it's the one stubborn UA parent inspiring others to try? ha!)

We've gotten all our kids frog bikes second hand so far. Those bikes LAST & the racks at our school is full of them. Eventually, we'll have to buy a new, high quality bike for one of our kids, but we haven't gotten there yet.

I also think it's really gross that so many people don't care about the 80+ elderly. Like...you work your whole life to retire & get old & hopefully enjoy it & then society is like...you're worthless. Just me? I know I'm soft about these kind of things...but the alternative is pretty awful.

That is a huge cost to society. Honestly, @880cities.bsky.social talks about designing for children & elderly being a great way to ensure life is generally good for your citizens.

It definitely should mean 65 & older. It's boomers, which are most millenials' parents. Many of my peers talk about their parents having trouble going out in winter. Even the active ones are wary of a slip or fall on ice so they stay home & are more sedentary for a big chunk of the year.
