overall, very excited to see where the absolute universe goes from here. so many of these issues are 10/10 for me legitimately. i pray that dc doesnt do what marvel did with the ultimate line

there is the constant antagonizing force of lazarus corp, of course. but it only highlights how different he is from the people around him, that he's feared so intensely that an entire army is needed to take him down, constantly hunting him wherever he goes. early supe is peak and it nails it.

where diana knows exactly who she is and knows that her destiny has been laid out for her, clark is in a constant battle with his identity. he's unsure of who he is, feeling lost without a home. as with all good superman stories, the real struggle is internal.

both superman and wonder woman are typically characters i don't care too much about, so im pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed both so far. abs. superman is much more dense than i thought it would be, with a lot happening over a couple arcs. these series feel polar opposite in a really good way.

i also LOVE their design for diana. genuinely it should be adapted into the mainline universe imo. giving her actual armor for once instead of just a corset and skirt feels so right, and making her actually buff is so good. her face also looks like it was pulled straight from a greek painting. 10/10

i also love the way sherman plays with the panel layouts to fit the environment and mood of the moment. it helps both set the vibe but also distinguish between scenes (cuts to different areas, flashbacks) and it feels just so playful and fun, they are such a perfect fit for this series.
