And i'm absolutely fucking tired of seeing "what if the Nazis did better" explored in games.

And if you are interested in that topic, ask yourself "why do I want to see the Nazi's do better?", what possible itch of curiosity is that scratching?

Not only is it fanboying evil, its boring as hell.

Brb, kickstarting a new "What if the Nazis won?" wargame that's just "roll 2d6 on turn one, if you get 2 or more the Nazi Government collapses, and whoops guess what now it's a denazification simulator"

I would expect nothing less.

If I'd been making my appearance before the standing orders review committee this week instead of last, I'd have just spent the whole five minutes ranting about this. The utter contempt with which the Government is treating the legislative process is as insulting as it is flagrant.

I'll also be up next week! If you're feeling better then, we can try arrange something!

I have completely lost my hard-won grew-up-here ability to function in this weather

Recommendation noted! Will check them out if/when I am in the CBD

It's not as bad as it could be — my commute when working in Auckland takes me past Holiday and my Auckland office is within walking distance of Blackdrop, so I'll at least have options!

In another auto-indictment, my suitcase apparently wasn't closed completely, and if it hadn't been for the kindness of the person who called out to alert me, I'd have left my quite new Switch 2 on the floor of Wellington Airport. Which I think would probably have sent me into a spiral for a week.

It was actually by chance I got it — I usually go to Mojo ( for my sins) but the line was long and I was impatient. So I picked Belen on a whim and was rewarded! I'm a fan of their food already, so I probably shouldn't have been surprised haha

That said, the coffee I bought from Belen at the airport was maybe the best $3 coffee I've ever had. Which might sound like faint praise, but I mean it wholeheartedly. Nicer than many batch brew coffees I've had that cost twice as much.

It does a bunch of things, but the big one (from my perspective at least) is that it takes decisions about Parliament's funding out of the hands of the Executive, and into Parliament's own control. Which is good because it means the Govt can't just defund the legislature and get even more power.

Still annoyed they didn't accept my recommendation about MPs' office branding though.

Oh, congratulations! This is excellent news indeed.

Joel McManus' promotion already paying out massive dividends to The Spinoff in the "Weirdo Parliament Wonk" market segment.
