15 UK banks ordered to snoop on state pensioners and other benefit claimants under DWP crackdown.

No court order needed. No right of appeal.

Banks will pass cost to other customers.

Those accused of fraud won't get legal advice. The making of another Post Office type scandal.

Today is the start of #ChallengePoverty Week.

#DYK women are more likely than men to:
🔶be in poverty
🔶experience in-work poverty
🔶experience persistent poverty
🔶find it harder to escape poverty

📢Action to tackle the #GenderPayGap is critical in tackling poverty.

When it comes to intimidating racist protests including outside our homes or place of worship, Black and Asian people are supposed to just accept it and the government saying “we hear you” and “it is right to protest this” and “I love flags me”. No thought of “cumulative impact” for us!
NEW: Home Office announces planned new anti-protest powers, mainly aimed at pro-Gaza protests like those for Palestine Action. Police will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of repeated protests and potentially order that they be relocated.

When I was in hospital a few years ago I had a nurse from Philippines, and was a number of support staff all vital to my care from different parts of the world. They saved my life. Without immigration our NHS would not be as strong!
Scotland thrives because people choose to make it their home. Migration isn’t something to fear, it’s the lifeblood of our communities and keeps our cities alive, our towns dynamic, and our society forward-looking. It’s one of Scotland’s greatest assets and we should be celebrating that!
The implication from Labour is that we, migrants, don't contribute enough, don't integrate enough, don't work enough.

Meanwhile I've volunteered in political activism for no pay, I've taken Gàidhlig evening classes, I make a living as an artist creating abstract renditions of Scottish landscapes.
