Today we join the @bigissue.com and 65 other signatories in an open letter urging the UK Govt to set child poverty targets in the upcoming child poverty strategy.

The Guardian covered it here - www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Happy to confirm that ScotGovt have replied to confirm they have no intention to change Scots law to mirror UK Govt plans to give powers to police in E&W to prohibit repeated protests. #HumanRights #Protest #Scotland

This morning I have written to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice @angelaconstance.bsky.social MSP to register our concern over plans by the Home Secretary to provide new protest policing powers to police forces in England and Wales and to ascertain if the CabSec intends to mirror this in Scots law.

@metoffice.gov.uk very confusing. Hurricane (tropical storm) Humberto is in the Atlantic but you’re talking about TS Amy. Why not stick with the same name to make it easier for people to
Understand? Or Is Amy and Humberto different storms?

When I was in hospital a few years ago I had a nurse from Philippines, and was a number of support staff all vital to my care from different parts of the world. They saved my life. Without immigration our NHS would not be as strong!
Scotland thrives because people choose to make it their home. Migration isn’t something to fear, it’s the lifeblood of our communities and keeps our cities alive, our towns dynamic, and our society forward-looking. It’s one of Scotland’s greatest assets and we should be celebrating that!
The implication from Labour is that we, migrants, don't contribute enough, don't integrate enough, don't work enough.

Meanwhile I've volunteered in political activism for no pay, I've taken Gàidhlig evening classes, I make a living as an artist creating abstract renditions of Scottish landscapes.

I don’t understand why if someone is complaining about musk and what he’s said and done recently, why they continue to use his platform to post. I don’t like him so don’t use his platform, yet others dislike him but continue to do so. Very confusing.

Twitter really is a complete horrific cesspit. I hope this place is much much better with nicer people. Had this account for a while but I should start to use it. Hopefully I’ll enjoy it as I really detest what Twitter has become since its sale. Hi Bluesky!
