Maybe. It's definitely transactional. Genuine politeness is something people of any gender will do for people of any gender. If someone is only doing nice things for people the find attractive in hopes of getting a reward, it's manipulative and phony.

Today I watched The Alfred Hitchcock Hour season 2 episodes 27 and 28. The Touch of Satan was of course the highlight as it starred none other than Christopher Lee. I had sky expectations based on the star and title. Those weren't quite met, but it was still pretty good!

In fact, a lot of women prefer to split the bill to avoid the pressure to pay for their dinner in other ways. Galloway's advice isn't even good. Unless maybe it's directed at religious fundamentalists.

He's telling men that paying for dates will help them get laid. That is an attitude that does lead to entitlement and very frequently to sexual assault. If you were willing to ever listen to women, you'd know this.

There's always backlash to progress. Women aren't going back. No matter how hard you try to force us. LGBTQ people aren't going back to the closet. We'll get through the backlash, and if straight men want to be healthy and happy, they'll learn to let go of heteropatriarchy. Enjoy this while you can.

And it always comes to this. The protection racket. Women have to diminish ourselves and play mommy/wife/therapist/friend group to men or you might have to angry and hurt us. There's nothing progressive about. It's the same old misogyny.
